Xiaomi presented a wide range of products this Sunday, December 11. The Buds 4 headphones complete the brand’s audio ecosystem.
Xiaomi had a busy weekend. The manufacturer unveiled its new flagships Xiaomi 13 and 13 Proas well as l’interface MIUI 14. The brand took the opportunity to expand its ecosystem of products with a copy of the Mac miniand accessories for its smartphones such as the Xiaomi Watch S2.
It’s not over, Xiaomi has also announced new wireless headphonesthe Xiaomi Buds 4. Be careful not to confuse them with the Redmi Buds 4 launched by the brand in October.
Hi-Res audio and noise cancellation
To sell the merits of its new headphones, Xiaomi highlights compatibility with the new LHDC-V codec, capable of transmitting 24bit/192kHz “HiFi” quality and “Hi-Res” audio. Spatial audio and Bluetooth 5.3 are also included. The data sheet also reveals active noise cancellation, but Xiaomi does not compare with other products on this point. Whatever happens, we will have to wait for the tests to get an idea of the audio quality.
Physically, these headphones come very close to the AirPods since they are not quite in-ear and are sold without tips, like Apple’s classic EarPods or AirPods.
Xiaomi promises 6 hours of battery life for this new pair, which can be recharged in a box capable of offering 24 hours of battery life. The latter charges via USB-C, but does not offer wireless charging.
These headphones will be marketed at 699 yuan in China, or approximately 95 euros excluding tax. We will have to wait for the European presentation in several weeks to discover an official price in euros.
