Blogger Hadeer Atef and her husband were arrested by the police in Giza, on charges of fraud.
16 people filed complaints once morest the blogger Hadeer Atef, her husband, his sister, and her husband, for practicing fraud and defrauding them and obtaining sums of money from them following deluding them of owning a group of companies operating in several fields, “cars, real estate, and securities trading” under the pretext of investing them in exchange for financial profits.
According to the investigations, blogger Hadeer Atef promoted these activities through her page on the social networking site “Instagram”.
After legalizing the procedures, 3 of them were arrested in a joint mission from Giza Security and the Public Funds Investigation, and they admitted to receiving money from the victims amounting to more than one million pounds under the pretext of investing them for profits, but they did not do so or return the original amount.
The necessary report of the incident has been issued, and a fugitive suspect is being arrested. Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Director of Giza Security, referred him to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation.
