They deliver certification to the Degree in General Medicine of the UAQ

Authorities of the Autonomous University of Querétaro and the Faculty of Medicine celebrated the delivery of the plaque that certifies the Degree in General Medicine of this Institution by the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (Comaem), this will allow said program to be at the international forefront of medical education.

During the ceremony, held at the Faculty facilities, the Rector Teresa García Gasca congratulated the Medicine community for these continuous improvement efforts that allow the University to move forward. Likewise, she indicated that, thanks to this, graduates must have the confidence that they have the necessary knowledge to be competitive.

“The fact that this accreditation has also achieved international status tells us that work has been done well and we are on the right track. Internationalization is one of the objectives of our University (…). What accreditation means, whether national or international, is that we guarantee our graduates that they will perform with the best levels of quality”.

On the other hand, Dr. Guadalupe Zaldívar Lelo de Larrea, director of the Faculty of Medicine, assured that a Comaem certification is an international quality mark, for which she thanked the members of the community for having contributed to concretize this achievement.

Dr. Juan Hernández Hernández, Technical and Operational Secretary of Comaem, was in charge of delivering the accreditation certificate to the university authorities, where he assured that this is a public, non-governmental recognition that the Council grants to Medicine programs that comply with the criteria, indicators and quality parameters established by this body in the areas of structure, organization, operation, inputs, teaching processes, services and results.

“To the extent that a program has quality training, the results are better for society. An accredited program offers the security of meeting national and international requirements so that medical education is achieved with high levels of quality. The applicant to take an accredited program or who is already taking one, can have the confidence that her preparation will be well oriented and that it only requires her effort to achieve what the program offers ”, she added.

Dr. Miguel Ángel Rangel Alvarado, coordinator of the UAQ General Medicine Degree, recognized the importance of the accrediting body, as an entity endorsed by recognized national and international organizations and it was for this reason that the evaluation of the educational program was sought to approach , he said, to academic excellence.
