Netflix documentary: Harry and Meghan shoot intimate insights into a pompous fake villa

Did someone cheat? After the first three parts of the calculated scandal documentary series “Harry & Meghan” ran on Netflix, displeasure is spreading. The viewers of the streaming service are promised exclusive insights into the luxurious life of the British royals. The Sussexes open their doors for their glimpse of the royal world.

Interview in luxury villa from the neighborhood

But like the “Bild” reported on Sunday, the interview recordings for the documentary are said not to have been taken in their own 12.3 million euro villa in Montecito (California), but in an even more pompous one in the neighborhood of the fashionable coastal town. The majestic luxury villa that was actually filmed in is currently for sale for 31.3 million euros. She features a 1260 square meter lot, six bedrooms, private cinema, pool and spa – including views of the Pacific.

It is not known why Harry and Meghan spurned their own four walls for the documentary. After all, the villa acquired by the Sussexes in 2020 is more than impressive. Five acres of land, a tennis court, rose gardens—everything a lost royal needs.

Why are Harry and Meghan fleeing their mansion?

The escape to the neighborhood is all the more astonishing because the royal dropouts have already shown themselves in videos in their property and have also conducted interviews there. Apparently, the original documentary director Garrett Bradley (36) also had a problem with the little cheating. According to Page Six, a TV insider said, “Garrett wanted Harry and Meghan to shoot at home, and they didn’t like that.” Bradley quit the job, with two-time Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Liz Garbus (52) taking on the project instead .

On the other hand, Harry and Meghan never claimed in the documentary to speak regarding their lives from their own home – that’s just the assumption made by viewers who get a glimpse of the Sussexes’ privacy in the Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan want to catch. Parts 4 to 6 of the miniseries will run from December 15th.
