Fees for licensing the Public Shops Law.. start from 1000 pounds, depending on the area and location

The Official Gazette published the categories of public shops licensing fees in accordance with Public Business Law No. 154 of 2019 and its executive regulations, which are scheduled to come into effect today, Sunday, December 11, 2022. The license fees are divided into “inspection fees and licensing fees.”

The Public Shops Law set a maximum of 1,000 pounds for inspection fees, a minimum of 1,000 pounds, and a maximum of 100,000 pounds for licensing fees, according to the area and location of the shop to be licensed, whether it is in hamlets, villages, neighborhoods, cities, provincial capitals, new cities, and distinct places, and spaces start from 1 meter to 15 meters and up to 91 meters or more.

Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, confirmed, in previous statements, that the law helps establish an attractive climate for investment by providing the necessary services for all commercial activities, and achieving a positive boom in economic rates in Egypt. The principle of equal opportunities, motivating young people to work and supporting economic development, to contribute to the rotation of the wheel of the economy, opening new areas for investment, and increasing state revenues.

Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Local Development will start publishing the general and special requirements stipulated in the Public Places Law No. 154 of 2019 and its executive regulations in the governorates of the Republic, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s endeavor to establish an attractive climate for investment.
