10 million won each for 10 exemplary research laboratories of the Ministry of Science and ICT

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 11th that it had selected 10 ‘healthy laboratories’ that might serve as models for domestic laboratories.

Since 2020, the Ministry of Science and ICT has selected and supported laboratories with excellent laboratory culture, management, and performance as ‘healthy laboratories’.

This year, 10 labs were selected through written and presentation evaluations out of 55 labs that were submitted.

Korea University’s ‘Data Science & Business Analytics Lab’ was recognized for its horizontal and autonomous atmosphere, with students participating in the selection of new students.

The University of Seoul’s ‘Cell Signal Transduction Lab’ and Keimyung University’s ‘Artificial Intelligence Computer Diagnosis Lab’ were evaluated as excellent in research and career management by meticulously managing students’ writing of research notes and accumulating and sharing career data of seniors for 10 years.

The Ministry of Science and ICT explained that laboratories with excellent laboratory cultures also have excellent research results, and that most of the selected laboratories are producing results such as publishing papers in major domestic and foreign journals, registering patents, and transferring technology.

Selected laboratories will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award, a certification signboard, and a reward of 10 million won, respectively.
