Afraid of censor approval; Great response to Bharat Circus which talks about casteism

Dubai: Director Sohan Seenulal said that the excellent response to the film Bharat Circus is proof that the audience has accepted the theme of the film. The movie was released yesterday.

There is a situation where it is not even possible to openly express opposing views on caste and religion. Although there is no obvious caste system here like in North India, it is seen that the casteism that lies in the mind of man is becoming clear day by day. Recently a Kunnathunad MLA complained that caste discrimination was shown to him. All these things were in our mind while making the film. That’s why this problem was raised. Some people asked whether to skip the parts that seem to cause problems and give them to the censors. We were all worried that the sensor would get through. Although the number of casteists in Kerala is less than in other states, the misery they cause is great. But he said that it was the faith of the Malayalis all over the world that led him forward.

Actor and director MA Nishad, who played one of the main characters in the film, said that Bharat Circus is a film regarding today.

There has never been a movie in Malayalam that talks so strongly regarding casteism. What we did was take out the worms in a system. Kudos to the director and producer for taking the courage to do this. After a long discussion and voting, the film passed the censor. There are a lot of casteists in our system. It was able to be brought out through this film. Binu Pappu, another lead actor, said that Bharat Circus is a film that discusses caste politics as well as injustices in legal systems and hierarchies.

Producer Anuj Shaji said that Bharat Circus is a thriller genre film and the positive comments it is getting gives hope.

Actor Shine Tom Chacko, actresses Megha and Anu Nair were also present at the press conference. Muhad Vembayam, who was a radio artist in the UAE for a long time, composed the film. This is his second film. Earlier he also wrote for the film Two Men. Produced under the banner of Best Way Entertainment, Jaffer Idukki, Sunil Sukhada, Sudhir Karamana, Prajod Kalabhavan, Aradhya Ann and Jolly Chirayat also play roles in the film.
