68-year-old singer Lyubov Uspenskaya is considered one of the main patriots of the national stage. Despite the fact that the future performer of the hit “Cabriolet” was born in Kyiv and lived in the United States, she actively supports the policy of Russia. However, Lyubov Zalmanovna finally confused the fans at today’s Golden Gramophone award ceremony. The self-proclaimed “queen of Russian chanson” admitted that until the very last moment she did not have Russian citizenship.

“I dreamed of living in Russia. Although I myself am from Ukraine, I was born in Kyiv, then I lived in America for many years. And soon another dream of mine will come true: one of these days I will receive Russian citizenship. This is a holiday, I will be an even happier person, ”Ouspenskaya admitted.

As the star said in an interview, she sailed overseas with just a few dollars in her pocket. In America, the chanson performer managed to make a brilliant career, but then she still preferred to go to Russia. Not so long ago, she also moved her daughter Tatyana Plaksina to Moscow, who has now decided to follow in the footsteps of her parent and is making a career on the stage. Previously, mother and daughter often quarreled and did not understand each other, but now all their contradictions, fortunately, are in the past.

Recall that the fourth husband of the artist was businessman Alexander Plaksin, who still lives in the United States. Ouspenskaya is sure that it was the entrepreneur who turned once morest her daughter. However, Ouspenskaya and Plaksin have not yet officially filed for divorce.
