The Armed Forces Commander, General Joseph Aoun, visited the State of Qatar, where he was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani. The Army Commander thanked the Qatari Foreign Minister for the repeated initiatives taken by the sisterly State of Qatar to assist the Lebanese Army during this stage.
General Aoun also met Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces. They discussed the relations of cooperation between the armies of the two countries and ways of continuing Qatari support for the Lebanese army in order to help it overcome the current difficulties.
The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, praised the army’s performance in preserving Lebanon’s stability and safeguarding its civil peace, despite the challenges posed by the current crisis in the country.
