Tepehuanes, Dgo.-A young woman is in very serious condition following being injured in the head with a gunshot by her partner, a man twice her age; After assaulting her, he took her life, all before the eyes of several witnesses, inside a bar.
The injured young woman, who was rushed to the city of Durango from Tepehuanes, is 23-year-old Briseida Ayala Rodríguez, who sustained a head injury. She is originally from the town of Las Cebollas, in said municipality.
While the deceased is Francisco López Návar, 46 years old, originally from the town of Quebrada Onda, in the aforementioned demarcation.
According to the information available, the incident occurred in full view of several witnesses inside a bar called “El Aterrizaje”, located at the head of Tepehuanes. This at regarding 02:00 p.m. this Saturday.
The couple began to argue and, at one point, Francisco pulled out a firearm and shot Briseida, causing her to fall wounded. He then shot himself in the head and died at the scene.
Mexican Red Cross personnel went to the scene and provided immediate care to the young woman, who was taken to the Santiago Papasquiaro Hospital for stabilization. There they decided the immediate transfer to the General Hospital 450, where it dawns this Saturday.
The remains of the deceased were taken over by the Forensic Medical Service, which is investigating the facts in detail to establish precisely what happened.
