In just a few weeks, the study showed that doing three or four minutes per day of vigorous physical activity would be enough to halve the risk of death from cardiovascular causes.

An easy way to get there? Pick up the pace of activities you already do every day, like walking, climbing stairs, or doing household chores.

Researchers found that people who got only one to two minutes of vigorous physical activity as part of daily activities regarding three or four times a day during the week they wore an activity tracker had a 38% to 40% lower risk of dying, compared to people who did not engage in as vigorous physical activity.

Emmanuel Stamatakis, professor of physical activity and population health at the University of Sydney and lead author of the study suggests that increasing daily activities can have major health benefits.
