Prosecutors investigating the allegation of job solicitation by Korea Complex Logistics, a CJ affiliate, additionally searched and seized the home of the Blue House personnel secretary of the previous government.

The prosecution believed that former chief of staff Noh Young-min was involved in the case and had previously imposed a travel ban, but the investigation seems to be expanding.

The prosecution investigation team comes out of the Gyeonggi-do Central Cooperation Headquarters office in Yeouido, Seoul.

The search and seizure of related materials was carried out to confirm how Mr. A, the head of the headquarters here, was hired as a full-time advisor by Korea Complex Logistics, a CJ affiliate in the past.

“(Has the seizure and search ended now?) ….”

Mr. A, a former assistant to a senior member of the Democratic Party of Korea, was the successor to Lee Jeong-geun, former vice secretary general of the Democratic Party, who was previously involved in a job solicitation at the same company.

Prosecutors suspect that Mr. A, like the former Vice President Lee, is also a job candidate who was hired by Korea Complex Logistics at the request.

Along with Mr. A’s office, the home of the Blue House personnel secretary of the Moon Jae-in government, who was accused of intervening in their employment process, was also included in the search target.

Prosecutors are also looking into whether former chief of staff Noh Young-min was involved as a senior secretary.

Last month, when the Korea Complex Logistics office, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the home of another former personnel secretary were seized and searched, the warrant listed former chief Roh as a suspect for obstruction of business.

He was also banned from leaving the country, suspecting that Roh received a request from former Vice President Lee and put pressure through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to hire an unprofessional person as an advisor to a private company.

Former vice-president Lee, who failed in the 21st general election two years ago, sent a text message to former chief Roh saying, “Chief only chance,” and received an answer that he might serve as an advisor.

Mr. Roh denies the allegation, but as the prosecution conducts an additional search and seizure, a fact-finding investigation seems inevitable.

An official from the prosecution said that the criterion for judging illegality is whether the company’s right to recruit personnel has been followed in accordance with the established procedures.
