It’s a scenario worthy of a Hollywood movie. A plane was hijacked, causing it to land in an emergency at Barcelona airport, Spain, as part of a collective attempt at illegal immigration. In any case, this is indicated by the first elements of the investigation carried out by the local police services following the emergency landing of a plane which was to connect Morocco to Turkey.

In its edition of Friday, December 9, Al Ahdath Al Maghribia looks back on the incident that took place last Wednesday, when a plane from the Turkish company Pegasus, operating the Casablanca-Istanbul route, had to land in an emergency in Barcelona because of a passenger regarding to give birth. Except that once the plane landed, 28 individuals rushed to the exit door to try to flee.

Rushed to the hospital, it finally turned out that the pregnant woman was still far from giving birth. Everything indicated, however, that she had simulated her contractions to cause the emergency landing of the plane to allow several individuals to immigrate illegally to Spain.

At the same time, adds the daily, it is a real chase which was launched on the tarmac of the airport to try to catch up with the 28 individuals who escaped from the plane. The latter wanted to take advantage of the fact that the day had not yet risen to disappear into the wild, but their plan fell through. In any case for a large part of them.

According to the newspaper, 14 individuals, including the pregnant woman, were quickly arrested. Five of them were even returned to the same plane, following the crew of the latter agreed to take them back. The others, including the pregnant woman, were prevented from boarding by the police, who now charge them with being the perpetrators of a legally punishable crime.

The investigation continues in order to find the missing individuals. Waiting, Al Ahdath Al Maghribia recalls that this is not the first time that an operation of this kind has taken place, explaining that the stratagem of these candidates for illegal immigration is known: to take advantage of the non-requirement of a visa to travel to Turkey to cause landings in emergency at European airports and flee.
