The Vaudois will be, with Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 56), the only Swiss admitted to the final draw of the men’s singles in Melbourne. Among the ladies, we will find Belinda Bencic (WTA 12), Jil Teichmann (WTA 35) and Viktorija Golubic (WTA 76).

Wawrinka wins two matches, Stricker beaten from the start
Stan Wawrinka perfectly negotiated the first day of the Diriyah Tennis Cup, an exhibition contested in Saudi Arabia. Winner of the Italian Matteo Berrettini (ATP 16) in the 1st round, Wawrinka (149) continued by beating Andrey Rublev (8) 6-7 (3/7) 6-2 10/6 in quarters. He will face Daniil Medvedev (7) on Friday for a place in the final.
Second Helvetian in the running at Diriyah, Dominic Stricker (118) lost 10/7 10/5 to Pole Hubert Hurkacz (10) in the 1st round.
