He chose 1. FC Nuremberg!
As BILD learned, Schalke’s Florian Flick (22) loan to the club is perfect. The defensive midfielder will come to Franconia until the end of the season. However, the FCN has no purchase option. “Sky” had first reported on the change.
Flick made eight appearances in the first half of the Bundesliga season, but recently played no role at all with the Royal Blues. He should therefore collect match practice at another club. In addition to the club, the league rivals Kaiserslautern and Bielefeld were also interested. Ultimately, however, the good discussions with coach Markus Weinzierl (47) were apparently the decisive factor for Nuremberg.
With Flick, the club has now found the urgently needed reinforcement, at least in defensive midfield. The loan is also a cost-effective solution for FCN. Finally, further transfers are planned with a new goalkeeper and an additional winger (BILD reported).
Flick should start preparing for the second half of the season with the team next week.
