Morocco has contributed $5 million to the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), announced Bank President Akinwumi A. Adesina.
“For the first time, Morocco has decided to contribute to the sixteenth replenishment of the Fund’s resources for the period 2023-2025”, welcomed Mr. Adesina in an exclusive interview with MAP.
Also for the first time, the Kingdom is hosting a replenishment meeting of the Fund, noted the president, highlighting the importance of this meeting for the continent as it opens up a new field of possibilities and new perspectives to nearly 40 countries. Africans.
“On behalf of the African Development Bank Group, I would like to salute the strong and constant involvement of the Kingdom in the development of its continent,” he said.
A total envelope of 8.9 billion dollars was committed by the partners during this fourth and final meeting of the sixteenth replenishment of ADF resources, held in Tangier.
This is the largest replenishment in the history of the ADF, which provides concessional grants and loans to low-income countries on the continent.
