Farouk Flux criticizes the re-presentation of “My Beautiful Lady” and advises Ahmed El-Sakka

The artist, Farouk Flux, criticized the idea of the artist Ahmed El-Sakka re-presenting the play “My Beautiful Lady”, starring the late Shweikar and Fouad Al-Mohandes, during the Riyadh season, where he will co-star Reem Mustafa.

Flux, who participated in the original version of the play, said during remarks carried by “An-Nahar” that the work that is presented in the era of black and white cannot be returned or quoted permanently.

He pointed out that he is not talking regarding people, but regarding the idea of re-telling that they presented in difficult circumstances, the theater glass was blue at the time, and in times of the 1967 war, despite that, the play became iconic.

He asked, “The play has gone through many years, so what will they perform in it once more? A wrong decision on their part, but I wish them success.” He added that he does not know who is Reem Mustafa, who will embody the role of a coincidence for the wonderful Shweikar, stressing that most of the artists of this generation are similar to each other.

He concluded by saying that the decision to present the play would have been correct if it had a new and different story from the novel, offering advice to Sakka that he should present the novel Al-Madaq Alley by the late Naguib Mahfouz and the writing of Bahjat Qamar, as it is great from his point of view.
