Intel announced the readiness for the production of new generation Meteor Lake processors

Intel reported that the process Intel 4 ready for mass production – the technology will form the basis of a new generation of processors, codenamed Meteor Lake. The corresponding statement was made by Ann Kelleher, general manager of the technology development company – she published an updated version of the manufacturer’s roadmap: Intel is ready to release 14th generation Core chips (Meteor Lake).

In August, an Intel corporate vice president clarified that the Intel 4 process will be used only for the production of chiplets with computing cores (CPUs), and other chiplets will be instructed to release TSMC on the 5nm N5 process and the improved 7nm N6 process. Further, all crystals will be combined on one substrate using the interface UCI.

The most important innovation in next-generation chips promises to be the integration of specialized components to speed up algorithms. artificial intelligence (AI) – today this is already a standard practice, which, in particular, Qualcomm has begun to use on its Arm platforms Snapdragon. In September, the head of Intel Patrick Gelsinger also announced this: “One of the things that we will bring is what I would call core AI features”. As examples, he noted simultaneous translation during a video session and cameras that can tune in to a speaker and adapt to him.

Previously also received messagethat new types of cores will appear in Meteor Lake chips – effective ones with reduced power, which will complement the P- and E-cores used in the processors of the previous two generations. The release of new processors is expected in the second half of 2023.
