Abu Dhabi International Food Fair kicks off – Chandrika Daily

Abu Dhabi: The UAE celebrated its 51st National Day with a wide range of events. The official event held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center was attended by the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ajman Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Fujairah Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain. Sheikh Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Almullah, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi and many members of the royal family, including the crown princes, ministers and other dignitaries were present.

Various heads of state congratulated UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in person and through messages. Hundreds of different events have been staged in different emirates in the past few days.

A number of sights evoking the country’s heritage have been arranged in specially designed areas. The historical events before and following the formation of the country in 1971 and its descriptions were very heartwarming. The days when the people who lived in pearls from the sea moved to the ways of modern life with all the comforts were worth learning for the new generation and foreigners alike.

Tens of thousands flocked to enjoy the special programs organized at the Sheikh Zayed Festival. Tens of thousands gathered to watch the amazing spectacle of drones in the sky and the colorful fireworks.

The non-residents were more happy as a public holiday was announced for four days. Many families have come to Abu Dhabi and other emirates on visitor visas in recent days to enjoy the festivities.
