ABU DHABI, 6th December, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed contracts worth more than one billion dirhams with four companies in Abu Dhabi to provide food catering and hospitality services to all ADNOC group companies during the years 2022 to 2027.
And by redirecting more than 50% of the value of the four contracts to the local economy through the “ADNOC” program to enhance in-country value, “ADNOC” confirms its commitment to supporting local companies and enhancing the growth and diversity of the local food industry sector by encouraging the provision of more purchases of food products. across the four companies.
Contracts were signed on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition with the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels “INST&H”, “Sedexo Kelvin Hospitality Services”, “Apex National Catering” and “Royal Catering Services”.
The signing ceremony of the contracts was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, His Excellency Maryam Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and His Excellency Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber said: “In line with the vision and directives of the leadership to support the growth of local companies, we are pleased to sign these contracts that contribute to the growth of the local food industry sector, and to provide high-quality food catering services to meet the needs of the large and diverse workforce of ADNOC employees. “And the contractors working with it in various onshore and offshore locations. These contracts confirm our commitment to using local suppliers and contractors to support the growth, development and diversification of the local industry sector.”
He added, “By working with local companies and encouraging the use of more products made in the UAE, we aim to support the growth and development of the food industry in the country, which is an important factor in the UAE’s national strategy for food security.”
ADNOC employs a workforce of more than 100 nationalities in its companies, which include 14 companies operating in various fields and stages of the value chain of the energy sector. ADNOC annually provides more than 45 million meals to provide the nutritional needs of a number of its employees and contractors, especially those working in the company’s remote marine and land sites.
