Deadly dangers of not eating breakfast.. Get to know them

A recent study confirmed that eating main meals at close times (less than four and a half hours between each meal) is associated with premature death.

The study, published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutritional Sciences in the United States, linked skipping meals and death.

Follow-up for 14 years

It included more than 24,000 people aged 40 years or more, as their eating behaviors were followed every 24 hours for more than 14 years, with the causes of death of a number of them revealed.

It turns out that eating main meals at close times is associated with early death, and the researchers also found that some eating behaviors are associated with higher rates of early death. Eating just one meal per day was associated with an increased risk of death from a variety of causes.

Skipping breakfast was associated with an increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease, while skipping lunch or dinner was associated with an increased risk of death from various causes as well.

Finally, the study found that eating main meals too closely (less than four and a half hours between one meal and the next) was associated with premature death.

And she pointed out that “excluding meals means losing important nutrients that the body needs, which is harmful to health in the long term, and thus may lead to an increased risk of some types of cancer and heart disease.”

She added, “Breakfast is essential to provide nutrients that reduce cardiovascular diseases, such as: fiber, and vitamins C, E and D.”

The researchers also warned of other potential risks of skipping breakfast, which include weight gain and osteoporosis.
