The promotion for the new “Avatar” film is in full swing. It has now been announced that Canadian R&B star The Weeknd will be contributing to the soundtrack for the film “Avatar: The Way of Water”. The 32-year-old shared a little taste of it yesterday (local time) on Instagram. He posted a short music sequence where you can hear a choir singing along with the “Avatar” logo.

Also yesterday, Avatar producer Jon Landau, 62, shared a photo with The Weeknd on Twitter. “As the Na’vi say, ‘Zola’u niprrte ‘soaiane Avatar’… Welcome to the Avatar family,” he wrote. How extensive the involvement of Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd in the film was not initially known.

Second part before Christmas

With “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora” (2009) director James Cameron created the most financially successful film in history. Global revenue was $2.8 billion. In 2017, Cameron began working on four more Avatar films simultaneously. The second part will be in cinemas in mid-December, followed by the other parts in 2024, 2026 and 2028.
