Injured in the traffic accident, the Swiss was airlifted to the CHUV by Rega. His days are not in danger. The police are appealing for witnesses.
Saturday, December 3 around 5:20 p.m., a motorist was traveling on the Pillon road, in Les Diablerets (VD) towards Vers-l’Eglise. Arrived at the height of the Coop, he hit with the front of his car a pedestrian who was crossing the road. The driver would not have seen this person, a 73-year-old Swiss woman living in the region, who was hidden by another vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction and would have slowed down considerably before the incident. At the time of the accident, it was dark. The place has no pedestrian crossing, further specifies the Vaud cantonal police in a press release. Injured, the woman was airlifted to the Vaud University Hospital Center (CHUV) by Rega. His days are not in danger.
The Vaud cantonal police are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who can provide information to call 021 333 53 33 or to contact the nearest police station.
The staff of the Cergnat gendarmerie station is carrying out investigations to find out the exact circumstances of this event under the guidance of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which has opened a criminal investigation.
