Sci-fi survival horror The Callisto Protocol received an avalanche of negative reviews on Steam due to the stuttering problem it suffered at launch. At one point, her user rating dropped to 22%. The user rating has now started to rise following a patch specifically designed to address the performance issue and is currently at around 52%.

Glen Scofield, CEO of developer Striking Distance Studios, explained what caused the issue on Twitter.

“The wrong file was fixed,” he said. “Just a fucking mistake because someone is in a hurry”

He also called it “technical errorand said thatit’s launch day, unfortunately it happens. This is Krafton’s first console game, so we basically do everything ourselves as a startup..

Considering how quickly the issue was resolved, Glenn Scofield’s words are probably true.
