The Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), indicated that overall car sales in Morocco stood at 145,289 units at the end of November 2022, down 7.41% compared to the same period a year earlier. .
It thus emerges from the Association’s monthly statistics that by segment, the number of new registrations of private vehicles (PVs) amounted to 128,895 units for the first eleven months of this year, down 6.29%, while that of light commercial vehicles (VUL) amounted to 16,394 units (-15.39%).
The “Dacia” brand, notes the same source, dominates the passenger car segment, with a market share of 27.33%, or 35,221 units sold at the end of November 2022, followed by Renault, which sold 19,076 units (market share of 14.8%) and Hyundai (12,618 units and 9.79% market share).
In the LCV segment, Renault sold 4,076 units (24.86% market share), ahead of DFSK, which sold 2,424 vehicles (14.79% market share) and Ford with 1,789 units (10.91 % market share).
On the premium side, Audi increased its sales by 7.03% to 3,518 cars to reach a market share of 2.73%, ahead of BMW (2,544 units and a market share of 1.97%) and Mercedes (2,250 units and a market share of 1.75%).
For its part, Porsche sold 299 units, up 16.34%, while Jaguar sales increased by 5.69% to 130 cars.
For the month of November alone, AIVAM notes a drop in overall sales of 12.85% to 11,288 units. In detail, the VP segment recorded a decline of 12.77% with 9,905 units sold, and the VUL of 13.45% to 1,383 units.
