According to the Ukrainian governor, three people were killed by Russian fire within 24 hours in the southern Ukrainian region of Cherson. Yaroslav Yanuschevych said on Telegram yesterday that seven people were injured. Russian troops bombed the city of Cherson and other parts of the region 42 times within 24 hours.
The regional capital, located on the west bank of the Dnipro, was liberated by Ukrainian forces in mid-November following months of Russian occupation. Since then it has been under fire from Russian troops who have retreated to the east bank.
The administration installed by the Russian occupying power in the Cherson region announced that it would bring people with restricted mobility from the city of Kakhovka to safety. This should start today, it said in a post posted on Telegram.
Ukraine hits Russian fuel depot
A rocket attack by Ukrainian forces hit a fuel depot in Shakhtarsk in the Donbas yesterday. Several people were injured, said Mayor Alexander Schatow from the pro-Russian administration there, as reported by the Russian state agency TASS. “The tank farm was hit, unfortunately there are victims.”
No information was released regarding the effects of the two rocket hits in the camp. According to the Russian account, the Ukrainian armed forces used HIMARS artillery rocket launchers in the attack. The information might not be verified.
