We have rarely heard columnist Mathieu Bock-Côté as sarcastic as this morning, at the microphone of Richard Martineau, on QUB radio. The two men commented on an article published by the Globe and Mail which asserts that the famous 5 to 7 is simply… discriminatory!
“First for Muslims, who don’t drink alcohol. They are therefore automatically excluded, ”quoted Mr. Bock-Côté.
According to the article, rather than having one or a few drinks, workers might instead go “go bowling.” But beware!
“Bowling is 10 whites that you throw down with a black ball,” quipped Richard Martineau.
Another solution proposed to hold inclusive happy hours would be to meet to discuss inclusion and different cultures. In short, solutions rather ridiculed by the two men.
Mathieu Bock-Côté explained that this somewhat twisted logic invariably leads to several discrepancies and exaggerations. And for several minutes, with Richard Martineau, they exchanged the most eccentric examples. In short, a muscular exchange that is worth hearing!
