Agreement between the State and ONEE

An agreement relating to industrialists’ access to electricity from renewable sources was signed between the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), on 1is December 2022 in Rabat.

Agreement relating to industrialists’ access to electricity from renewable sources between the State and the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE). According to the authorities, this agreement is part of the decarbonization of national industry aimed at reducing the carbon footprint through access to electricity from renewable sources. This thus offers industrial companies an essential lever of competitiveness and strengthens the positioning of the Kingdom as a regional hub of competitive and green industrial production.

The agreement revolves around the commitment of the signatory parties to set the conditions and methods allowing industrialists to benefit from electrical energy at competitive prices, with a view to increasing their competitiveness and this, through their power supply at from means of production of electricity from renewable sources authorized under Law 13-09.

It should be noted that the agreement was initialed by the Ministers of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, and the Director General of ONEE, Abderrahim El Hafidi.
