The Chinese manufacturer BOE (Beijing Oriental Electronics Group) presented a new generation display panel at the World Display Industry Conference 2022. Its particularity is to be ultra-fast with a refresh rate of 600Hz. A feature that seems to almost mechanically dedicate this panel to eSports. Because obviously to obtain such a refresh rate, the targeted resolution is 1920 x 1080. During the demonstration, the panel was tested on a 16″ laptop, the configuration of which was “confidential” for the moment. The information provided mentioned an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU. The whole run DOTA 2.
Note however that the BOE company has not communicated many details on this 600 Hz panel and even less its release date. In January of this year BOE also announced a 500 Hz gaming panel for 27-inch monitor. However, it must be recognized that the brands that have adopted the latter are rare.
The “mobile” RTX 40 range should logically be unveiled at CES 2023 ( with the RTX 4070TI desktop ). It is therefore not impossible to see the arrival, simultaneously with Nvidia’s announcements, of laptops equipped with new GPUs and ultra-fast panels from BOE. Until now, no one has tried to break the 500 Hz barrier for laptops. The most spectacular feat is thanks to the credit of the Alienware x17 R2 laptops equipped with 17-inch 1080p panels at 480 Hz.
