SUNGAI RAYA- The concert of the Dewa-19 music group which was supposed to be held on Friday (2/12) night at Qubu Resort had to be cancelled. The concert, which sold thousands of tickets, was canceled because the police had not yet obtained permission.
Kubu Raya Police Chief AKBP Jerrold HY Kumontoy said that the concert might not be held because the committee had not completed the licensing requirements related to the applicable Covid-19 task force regulations.
“There are requirements that might not be met until yesterday. The file should be complete in 3-4 days, it should be immediately submitted to the Regional Police, but so far it has not been completed,” said Jerrold.
“We from the Polres have agreed not to give recommendations and asked EO to postpone the concert and dismantle the tent immediately,” added the Kapolres.
Pontianak Post’s monitoring in the field, several sponsor booth tents have been erected. Even the main stage for Dewa-19 is almost 100 percent complete. Since Thursday (1/12) followingnoon, hundreds of people seemed to have started exchanging ticket vouchers that had been purchased a month earlier.
Pontianak Post even encountered some fans who came from out of town, had booked hotel rooms not far from the concert venue. (azk)
