Fatal accident: The 21-year-old’s car came to rest at the Uster sewage treatment plant.
The accident happened shortly before 11:30 p.m., according to the Zurich cantonal police on Thursday morning. Shortly following entering Uster ZH, the 21-year-old’s vehicle left the roadway in a slight left turn.
The car then collided with a tree, spun over an embankment and finally came to a standstill on its side at the fence of the sewage treatment plant. After hitting the tree, the vehicle came to rest on its side by the fence of a sewage treatment plant.
Attempts at resuscitation in vain
The driver died on the spot despite attempts by rescue workers to revive him. It was initially unclear why he had left the road. The affected part of the road was closed until 3 a.m. (SDA)
