Nicolás Maduro, President of the Republic, called on the Ministry of Finance and the country’s private banks to resume credit in foreign currency, especially for businessmen and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.

He said it at the closing of the International Tourism Fair of Venezuela that was held in the state of Anzoátegui and that he classified as “the best in history.”

In the middle of his speech, he mentioned that “the reactivation, resuscitation and expansion” of a new tourism portfolio for investment and direct loans to entrepreneurs in national and international currency must be given, from the country’s private and public banks ” .

This seeks to “increase the credit portfolio in all currencies, especially granting credits in all portfolios.”

“(…) So that the money that arrives, whether it arrives in dollars, rubles or yuan, arrives and is recovered by this hotel, they pay you that money in full once more, quickly and completely. The level of delinquency in the payments of credits in Venezuela in bolivars and in dollars is almost zero ”, he highlighted.

He also reported that the Executive is working in detail on the 2023-2030 Economic Growth Plan, which includes an engine-by-engine evaluation.

“There are 18 engines, we are working on each one in detail. That is an economic strategy that we assumed in 2016, first, for the resistance phase, the 18 engines, in the face of 763 economic sanctions once morest Venezuela, ”he recalled.

He insisted that one of the fundamental engines that is already positioned and is a reality is that of national and international tourism.

“Venezuela is a reality and one of the most beautiful and complete countries that exist in Latin America, the Caribbean and the world,” said President Maduro.
