The three monthly free PlayStation Plus games may have leaked early. Trusted leaker Dealabs, who has consistently dropped details of additions to the monthly subscription service, claims this month’s featured titles will be Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout (DKO). The games will reportedly be available starting next week, December 6, via the PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium plans. Tipster claims that the titles will be available on both PS4 and PS5, and will be available to claim until January 3, 2023.
If correct, of the three options, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is undoubtedly the biggest steal here – encapsulating BioWare’s critically acclaimed sci-fi trilogy, revered for its branching narratives. The subtitle includes visual improvements designed for a new generation and over 40 DLC from all three games, including promotional weapons, shields and packs. For the price of free, Biomutant is another decent option, letting you unleash hell with a mix of martial arts combat and gunplay in a post-apocalyptic world. Divine Knockout is a new fighting game, launched on the aforementioned December 6th, on PC and PlayStation.
DKO would actually become a launch title on PS Plus, as would Stray, except that was restricted to some PS Plus seams. Of course, Sony still has no plans to offer its latest titles – like Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarök – on a monthly subscription service, unlike the Xbox model.
Sony’s financial report earlier this month showed PS Plus lost nearly two million subscribers, months following its June relaunch. The number decreased from 47.3 million to 45.4 million during the most recent quarter. The report also noted that the number of monthly active users of the PlayStation Network (PSN) also decreased during the period to 102 million – down 1.4 million from the previous year.
Currently, players with PS Plus’ Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium plans can claim the second installment of Soulslike Nioh 2, the entire Lego Harry Potter collection, and the atmospheric physics game Heavenly Bodies, until December 5. The last two tier-up plans gained access to more titles in November, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition, the entire Kingdom Hearts saga, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and more.
In India, PlayStation Plus subscription starts at Rs. 499 per month for Essential, Rs. 749 per month for Extra and Rs. 849 per month for the Deluxe.
