Ex-Spartak football player Petkovic arrested in Amsterdam with 115 kg of cocaine – media

Former football player of Moscow “Spartacus” Dusan Petkovic was arrested in Amsterdam, during the operation, the police seized 115 kg of cocaine worth 11 million euros, reports najnovijevesti.info.

The ex-defender of the national team of Serbia and Montenegro was detained as part of a special operation, along with Petkovic, the police arrested his stepson Damyan Roganovich. In total, according to Serbian media, 9 people were arrested. The men are suspected of involvement in conspiracy to commit criminal offenses, illegal production, distribution and organization of drug trafficking from South America to Europe.

The criminal group was supposed to send cocaine through a German forwarding company to the German city of Trier, and then to London for further sale, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. Packages of cocaine were hidden in concrete slabs. 22 concrete slabs were found, from which 103 packages with a total weight of 115 kg were seized. Petkovic, 48, was released, the article says.

Petkovic is the son of ex-coach of the Serbia and Montenegro national team Ilija Petkovic, who died in 2020. Petkovich Jr. in Russia played for Moscow Spartak (2004) and Ramensky Saturn (2006-2007), also played for the German Wolfsburg, Nuremberg, Belgrade OFK, Spanish Mallorca. He defended the colors of the national team when his father was in charge.
