“We use rapid diagnostic orientation tests (Trod). If the test is negative, the result is certain. If it is positive, it will have to be confirmed with a blood test. But, it makes it possible to take care of these people, ”explains Cidalia Pascal.

A few people staying at the Foyer accueil Chartrain (Fac) stop in the cafeteria. Some have coffee, tea and HIV information leaflets. Not all pass the test stage.

Davide, 25, was not afraid. He’s been living in college for three days. Cidalia Pascal supports it. She pricks her finger and a few drops of blood appear. Then, this sample is put in a “developer”, which in a very short time allows to know if the test is positive or negative.

“It’s negative Davide, it’s very good news,” reassures the nurse. “The people who live here are sometimes far from healthcare. Actions of this type make it possible to bring them to care and to create a bond of trust with them”, analyzes Thibaud Thieux.
