In the following, I would like to consider whether this information is worth believing, and why this kind of reporting is being done now.
What is the source of the “Invasion of Japan” plan?
The source of the information was an accusatory email from someone inside the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
The FSB is the successor organization of the KGB, which Putin once belonged to, and is an organization that has a great influence on the invasion of Ukraine. It has more influence than the military on national decisions in Russia, and at present it is no exaggeration to say that it is a power structure second only to President Putin. If it is an accusation email from inside the FSB, it can be said that it is information that cannot be carelessly overlooked.
However, the existence of this e-mail has been revealed as of March this year, and there is still doubt as to whether there was any new information. I will return to this point later.
The content is that as of August last year, Russia was planning a localized armed attack on Japan. It seems that the attack on the eastern part of Hokkaido, which is close to the Northern Territories, was in mind.
