Canelo furious with Lionel Messi and threatens him

The boxer did not like to see a video in which the soccer player steps on a shirt from Mexico.

Lionel Messi has no more “enemies” than the fans who criticize him, even in his country. But this Sunday a public one of great weight arose surprisingly. Super middleweight, exactly: the Mexican boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

The famous red-haired boxer wrote a threat on Twitter once morest the captain of the Argentine team, who this Saturday beat Mexico 2-0 at the World Cup Qatar 2022.

What happened? Hours following the albiceleste triumph, which left the tricolor team very difficult in their goal of passing the wheel, a video of the celebration of the albiceleste team in the locker room of the Lusail stadium emerged.

And there was a detail that Canelo Álvarez interpreted as an affront to his country, and that led him to tweet furiously on Sunday night.

The anger did not end there and turned into a veiled threat. “Let me ask God that I don’t find it!!”, Álvarez wrote immediately, with emojis of punches, insults of an angry face and flames. That second tweet was more “successful”: 21,000 retweets, 114,000 “likes.”

The Mexican is today one of the best boxers in the world. He is not much taller or heavier than the Rosario soccer player: 1.74 meters once morest 1.7, and 76 kilos once morest 72. But, of course, he is prepared to physically annihilate an opponent.

In the video of the Argentine celebration in the dressing room, the number 10 appeared partially standing on the Mexican shirt that Canelo talks regarding, in full collective song. The lyrics that the players sang did not refer to the rival they had just beaten.

And a few seconds later, already seated, the left-handed player from Paris Saint-Germain made a movement with his right leg to remove the boot, and thus displaced the green garment a bit.

Immediately, when the song reached the chorus, the players intensified their voices and several began to jump in the midst of enthusiasm, including Messi, who went to the center of the room with several teammates.

The lyrics referred to the parents of Diego Maradona, to the ex-combatants of the Malvinas War and to the final that Argentina beat Brazil for the Copa América at the Maracanã stadium in July 2021, and with which they put an end to a series of 28 years without achievements of the senior team.
