China: Nationwide protests against zero-Covid policy

As the number of people infected with the coronavirus continues to rise, more and more people are taking to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the government’s harsh measures.

A protester vents his anger. The immediate trigger for the rally was a fire in a high-rise apartment building in Urumqi on Thursday. Because the building was under lockdown, many residents might not escape. Ten people died.
