A 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 installed in the rear center position, pushed to 1030 horsepower. Three electric motors, one located on the rear axle and the other two coupled to the two front wheels. Aerodynamics worthy of a sport-prototype, providing very high level downforce. A 0 to 100 km/h expedited in less than 2 seconds and a 0 to 200 km/h shot under 5 seconds to humiliate a Bugatti Chiron. Is the new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo the replacement for the LaFerrari in the real supercar category?
Not quite. Like Aston Martin, Bugatti, Mercedes-AMG, Peugeot, Porsche, Red Bull, McLaren, Nissan, Mazda, Honda or Honda, Ferrari has finally decided to design a virtual supercar for the Gran Turismo video game. As usual in this kind of exercise, the car benefits from state-of-the-art technical data, even if it will never be developed in real life. Its internal combustion engine, extrapolated from that of the 499 P racing car, itself taken from the road-going 296 GTB, develops more than 1,300 horsepower with the help of three electric motors. Not meeting any technical regulations, this dream Ferrari would complete a lap of the Fiorano circuit in less than a minute and ten seconds according to the estimates of its designers. For comparison, the fastest of all road Ferraris – the SF90 Stradale – is no better than 1’19”.
A hint regarding the style of the future Ferrari Supercar?
The Vision Gran Turismo still exists as a scale 1 model and will be playable in the Gran Turismo 7 video game on Playstation 5 from December 23, 2022. But its design probably gives us some clues regarding the one of the future supercar of the brand, the one which should arrive by 2026 at the latest and which will take over from the LaFerrari of 2013.
