Opportunistic, Costa Rica surprises Japan and revives group E (1-0)

What a disappointment for Japan! After their magnificent victory once morest Germanythe Japanese wanted to validate their surprise qualification by overcoming Costa Rica, largely beaten by Spain in the opening game.

But the teammates of Ito and Mitoma (substitutes at kick-off) never really managed to worry Keylor Navas following a match very poor in opportunities and intensity. Worse, ten minutes from time, and following a distraction from the defense and goalkeeper Gonda, they saw Fuller open the scoring with a rather innocuous coiled shot. Ticos more than realistic since they register their goal…. on their first shot on target of the game. At the end of the match, the PSG goalkeeper saved his people following a good parade.

A Japanese defeat which suits Germany and which completely revives this group E since in the event of success once morest Spain this Sunday evening, the 2014 world champions would return to Japan before challenging Costa Rica to the last group match, while Spain will face the Asians.
