Peißenberg – Big bang in Upper Bavaria! It was around 9 p.m. when the alarm went off in Peißenberg.
It is now known that there were two explosions in a residential complex on Dominikus-Ringeisen-Weg. According to local residents, there was one in the house and another in the courtyard of the condominium.
Another apartment on the second floor was fully engulfed in fire. The emergency services moved to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring apartments. Heavy respiratory protection was necessary for this, the smoke and the fire came from every opening in the apartment.
► Inside the apartment, the fire brigade made a terrible discovery: two people were found dead there, and any help came too late.
A neighboring apartment was also badly damaged in the fire. During the night, the Technical Relief Agency checked whether the surrounding apartments were habitable once more.
Police are still keeping a low profile on the explosions and the identity of the victims. While the fire was still being put out, police officers collected parts in the inner courtyard of the residential complex and packed them in bags.
Three people had to be taken to hospital with mild smoke inhalation. The fire was extinguished around midnight and the criminal police were able to enter the burnt apartment to begin the investigation. The police also came in large numbers. The roads around the site were closed.
The police commander on site confirmed that investigations were being carried out in all directions. However, there is no longer any danger to local residents. On Sunday there will be a press release from the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South.
