Dr. Sherif Al-Anwari, Director of Abu Al-Rish Al-Munira Hospital in Kasr Al-Ainy, Cairo University, confirmed that the treatment of respiratory syncytial virus is done through certain medications, and it is not permissible to take antibiotics to confront the virus except in one case only, which is the presence of bacterial infection only, and the presence of infection is discovered through analyzes.
Dr. Sherif Al-Anwari added to “The Seventh Day” that the treatment of the syncytial virus is mostly a fever reducer, steam sessions, and dilators for the people, stressing that most cases recover and need treatment at home without the need for hospitalization.
The director of Abu Al-Rish Hospital stated that medical and therapeutic services are provided to those who visit Abu Al-Rish Hospital, especially in this period that witnessed high rates of syncytial virus infection, stressing that more than 50% of the hospital’s patients are infected with syncytial infection and are being treated.
