The measure was announced by the CAQ during the election campaign.
As the holidays approach, people aged 18 and over concerned by the sending of checks will receive their amount via direct deposit or by mail.
Questioned by TVA Nouvelles, taxpayers reveal that they do not all intend to use the check for groceries. Some say they will use it to travel.
Conversely, several people pointed out that they will use the check for other reasons.
“We’re going to put it aside, because we don’t know what’s coming […] such as groceries and basic needs,” explained a citizen.
“I’m going to pay my debts and I’m going to buy presents for my grandchildren,” said one lady.
Remember that taxpayers with an income of less than $50,000 will receive a check for $600, and those who earn between $50,000 and $100,000 will receive an amount of $400.
