Kevin De Bruyne more than pessimistic about Belgium’s chances: “We have no chance of winning the World Cup”

Belgium won following suffering once morest Canada in their first match of the group stage. On the field, many players were not at their level, including Kevin De Bruyne who showed his annoyance or even his dissatisfaction with what looked like a non-match for the Red Devils.

Two days before the match once morest Morocco, the Devil gave an interview to the British media, The Guardian. He does not hide his pessimism. “I think we have no chance of winning the World Cup, we are too old”launches the playmaker of the Belgians.

I think our luck was in 2018. We have a good team, but it is getting old. We lost some key players. We have some good new players coming in, but they are not at the level of other players in 2018. I see us more as underdogs,” he explains. “I am fully capable of doing what I need to do, but I feel the difference compared to eight years ago. I need more treatments, more rest.”

Too much money for KDB?

In this interview with GuardianKevin De Bruyne was asked if his salary, 23 million euros per year, was excessive. The answer is straightforward, as often with Kevin. “Honestly ? Nope ! I know what I’m regarding to say isn’t very popular. But I compare my salary to that of a singer, who has 60,000 people who come to see him. I watch it too, it makes sense. But football is millions of viewers. The income of a club is between 580 and 700 million euros. That’s a lot of money, but is it too much? If the club can afford it, no. That’s how I see things.”
