Have fun and write.. Here’s how Angela Merkel spends her time

After her many years in office, it seems that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel is enjoying her time quietly.

The “Mother of Refugees” as she was called, due to Germany’s hosting of millions of Syrians fleeing the war in their country, revealed that today she is living a period of calm in which she is trying to rearrange her life and herself.

She also added that, following retirement, she entered a period of reflection, and eased the pace system in which she had lived for many years, according to the Guardian newspaper.

She revealed some of the activities she has found time for since leaving office, including watching The Crown and Babylon Berlin. She added that she also watched Queen Elizabeth’s funeral on television, and showed interest in many of the guests she met during her reign.

She also continued reading the biography of Schiller and Shakespeare, as well as Sebastian Haffner’s biography of Winston Churchill.

A special book regarding her reign

In addition, she mentioned that she is now reading Churchill’s giant war diaries, along with Beth Bowman, whose office manager she worked for a long time.

She noted that she and Bowman are also writing a book together regarding her chancellorship, which they reportedly got a big push for.

She also said that one of her first vacations abroad was a tour of Tuscany last spring with an art historian friend.

It is noteworthy that German Chancellor Angela Merkel left office in 2021 following spending 16 years in it, and in the leadership of the Christian Democratic Union for 18 years.

And the beloved politician has since moved away from the limelight, leaving a good reputation and a presidential term that satisfied the Germans.
