“It is one of the reasons why I am not afraid of death…”: the confession of Benjamín Vicuña 10 years after the death of his daughter Blanquita

A powerful confession was made this Sunday by Benjamín Vicuña, who will be present in the premiere chapter of Todo por ti.

During the talk with Cecilia Bolocco, the Chilean actor will talk regarding various topics. One of them will be the painful departure of his daughter with Pampita, Blanquita, who died when he was 10 years old from an infection.

According to the interpreter, he has learned to live with pain by clinging to life.

“In these 10 years it has been a journey, as a family, of love, where absence becomes presence. If you learn to become attached to that figure that always accompanies you, like an angel, a shadow or an abstract figure. Today it is definitely one of the reasons why I am not afraid of death, why I get up to work and there is not a thing that I do not do, or when I feel a deep emotion, that I do not dedicate it to her ”, affirm in the program of Channel 13.

In addition, he will reveal that a few days following the tragedy, he contacted Cristián Warnken. The writer, who in 2007 lost his three-year-old son to suffocation in a swimming pool, met with Benjamin to give him advice.

“I hugged him and told him ‘tell me that this can be done, that this pain is going to let me breathe at some point.’ And Cristián looked at me and said ‘It transforms. But it can’. He did not sell it to me as an offer, he told me in a super responsible way and it was a thread of hope, ”he will confess. In addition, he will tell that optimism and family life was what saved him.

“I have a thing for clinging to life with all my might. And I like being with the family, it is the great refuge we have. I am 43 years old and there are people who tell me that solitude is better, but I don’t understand it, I don’t like it, I don’t share it as a life, as a model, as a philosophy. It is very nice to accompany each other, to see life as a team. I believe that I will always bet on life and love once more, ”she will maintain.

And in the same vein, the actor’s mother, Isabel Luco, will also touch on the subject. She will even reflect on the maturity that Benjamin shows following what he suffered, and his surprising ability to rebuild his life.

“The pain has not been in vain, he has always developed an empathy with life and with human beings (…) I always tell him that this life must be honored, and it is wonderful how he has been able to get up and return to Bet on love and life. I would have been unable. Because you have two positions: sink into the deepest bitterness or come out stronger and love once more ”, the woman will finish.
