Eleven arrests in the drug scene in Brussels and Ixelles: a seizure of 124,000 euros in cash and firearms found

The local search of the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone carried out nine searches and 11 arrests this week in an investigation into drug trafficking, it communicated on Thursday. She dismantled a large cannabis plantation, seized a sum of 124,000 euros and 70 gold and silver bars, as well as firearms.

“No less than nine searches took place in two days, among others in Brussels and Ixelles,” explained the police. “During these searches, various types of drugs were found. These included three active cannabis plantations, with a total of 1,562 plants. In addition, just over 5.5 kilograms of marijuana, 605 grams of cocaine and a small amount of heroin were discovered,” she said.

“In addition to the drugs, a large sum of money was found. The investigators thus found an amount of 124,000 euros in cash, as well as 25 small gold bars and 45 small silver bars. Two silenced firearms and a shotgun were also found at the searched addresses, along with luxury clothing worth a total of around 20,000 euros,” police added.

In total, 11 people were arrested and placed at the disposal of the investigating judge.
