Bus and collective leaders go to a new meeting

REGION.- This Thursday, November 24, is the second day of the strike of minibus and collective taxi drivers in the province of Quillota, mobilization that they maintain following not reaching an agreement with the government authorities.

Drivers seek to obtain a compensation bonus for the increase in fuel that cushions the expense that they must make during the exercise of their work.

Until now, the Government has offered them the possibility of raising the ticket price by $200 pesos in 30 days, which they have not accepted, they have already expressed that if the solution they are offered is a ticket increase, this should be applied in a maximum period of 10 days.

Around noon, the leaders of the mobilization entered a meeting at the Quillota Provincial Presidential Delegation, where different community authorities participate.

Government takes action for blocking routes

The Presidential Delegate of the Valparaíso Region, Sofía González, informed that she instructed the Carabineros to proceed to clear the streets and routes that are blocked.

All the bus drivers with inter-communal and local routes in the province of Quillota are part of this strike, together with the collective taxi drivers of Quillota and La Calera. Yesterday the bus drivers from Limache and Olmué joined together with the minibus drivers from those communes.

The drivers have made blockades in different streets of the province of Quillota and the accesses to this territory in walnut trees; daughters; The Calera; The Cross and Saint Peter from the crossroads, they’re locked letting in only private and emergency vehicles.

However, the traffic during this Thursday was more expeditious compared to Wednesday. At the connection between La Cruz and Quillota, the strike vehicles were installed on the side of the road. However, in Quillota there were some blockades.

EFE Valparaiso reported that the Quillota and La Calera metro bus service remains suspended.

Locomotion in the Province of Petorca

The Sol del Pacífico buses, via Catapilco and Zapallar Papudo both to and from Valparaíso, will continue to operate in a normal way during Thursday, whenever the traffic situation allows it.
