From November 25 to 26, Florida becomes the French beatbox capital. About sixty artists will parade on the legendary Agen stage to compete with their talents.
Beatbox and Florida is a long story. We know the Florida Beatbox Festival. This weekend will be held the French beatbox championships. The event is not global this time. It is a nationwide competition. After Nantes and Angers, Agen will be the French capital of beatbox. Over two evenings, 66 beatboxers will compete on stage. Get ready for the typical “kicks” and “snares” of the genre: the human body is transformed into a rhythm machine, where all musical styles intersect, from hip-hop to jazz.
Masters in their field
This is the fourteenth edition, already… After two years of constrained and forced silence, there is no doubt that the public of beatbox enthusiasts will be there. For several years, Agen has been proud to be the world capital of the genre, hosting an international competition between all the best beatboxers. In previous years, the event was attended by thousands of people around the world. We therefore expect a certain enthusiasm for the national version.
Atlas, Foxx, Indy, these names may mean nothing to you, but aficionados will be happy to come and see them on stage. Among the candidates for the title, Tioneb, whose figure is perhaps more familiar to you if you are a regular at Florida. Beatboxer from Age, focused on funk, jazz, hip-hop, he has been performing for several years across the country and has been closely involved in events related to beatbox. He led extracurricular activities and was a member of the jury at the international festival. Perhaps consecration awaits…
Big level
With seasoned artists among the jurors, we expect a great competition. The French Colaps, Kim and River, the South Korean Hiss, the Belgian Supernova… All are champions in their field.
They had to select the participants by viewing no less than 122 performances online. There will be two categories for this tournament: the classic solo, one once morest one, and the tag team, two once morest two. Friday will be the solo and tag team qualifying night for Saturday’s finals. Without forgetting of course a quantity of showcases on the two evenings by the members of the jury who figure in the top of the world basket!
