Did you know Celine Dion once had a crush on Gilbert Delorme?
Yesterday, in an article published on the account of “The bag of chips”, we brought to light this story which dates from several years ago, but which is still very intriguing.
What is the context?
In September 1983, the singer took part in the show A performance portrait of Celine Dion. And among the concept of the show, there was a moment when she had to shoot a scene with Gilbert Delorme.
At that time, the defender of the Canadian had to drive a convertible in which Celine was. She then put her head on his shoulder and she felt her heart beating.
Why? Because Delorme was attractive.
She then asked René Angélil to organize a meal for her with Delorme, but she learned that the defender of the Canadian might not. And that’s when she burst into tears.
The story does not say if Gilbert, current host at BPM Sports, said no… or if René Angélil, who obviously ended up marrying Celine Dion, really sent the message to the Canadian player.
We can especially think that the age difference (they are almost six years apart) has done its work and that in the early 1980s, it was a difference that was too marked. It might be that.
